A compassionate approach

Hi, I’m Meagan!

As a person, I have often been described as supportive, observant, and reliable - and this is exactly how I strive to show up for you as your therapist. I believe in meeting you where you’re at and not pushing you farther than you’re ready to go. When asked to describe my therapeutic style, I say, “I want to provide both the comfort of a friend and the skills of a professional.”

When working together, it is important to me that you feel safe during the session to explore what you want at your own pace and that you feel empowered when you leave session to implement the skills that you’ve learned in your day-to-day life.

I believe humans can change when they feel safe to explore their deepest and most vulnerable thoughts. When they feel as though they can make sense of conflicting feelings/thoughts and know that two things can be true at once.

I utilize a person-centered and strength based approach to best serve my clients. Once trust is established, I incorporate cognitive behavioral techniques to help clients identify and replace unhelpful thinking patterns. My hope is that through working together, my clients gain confidence to better understand and communicate their thoughts. I want my clients to feel sure of their decisions and brave enough to lean into the vulnerability of the unknown. I want them to feel confident that they can deal with the outcome either way.

let’s achieve your goals

I help young adult over-thinkers with anxiety gain clarity and confidence, so they can live a more fulfilling life.

FAQs

  • If you are asking this question, odds are that you could benefit from therapy - as anyone can! Therapy is a place to manage and reduce mental health symptoms, find ways to resolve conflicts or other issues in your life, and a place to explore your inner world to support your growth as a human. If you are still unsure, you may find these screeners to be useful to get some feedback on your mental health symptoms:

  • I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania. I hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Psychology degree from Concord University in Athens, WV and graduated from Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, PA in 2021 with a Master of Arts Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree.

  • My self-pay rate for Individual Counseling is $125 for a 53 min. session. I offer a free 15 min. consultation for us to discuss if I am the right fit for you before you commit financially to services. I also offer a limited number of reduced rate spots for qualified individuals.

  • I am in-network with the commercial plans of Aetna, United/Optum, and Cigna and in the process of credentialing with UPMC and Highmark/BCBS.

I encourage you to inquire with your health insurance provider to ensure that I am in-network with your specific plan before starting services as denied claims from insurance companies due to lack of in-network coverage results in the self-pay cost of the service, paid directly by the client.
